The SC urges the public to refer to the SC’s I nvestor Alert List before investing. The list contains details of unauthorised websites, investment products, companies and individuals. Members of the public who suspect that they have been approached by unauthorised firms or individuals offering schemes that promise unrealistic returns Artem Kliuchnikov and his family fled Ukraine just days before the Russian invasion. However, the perpetrators of such frauds are now adopting new methods and technologies to defraud the investors. Additionally, investors are often instructed to deposit monies into personal bank accounts of individuals who claim to represent a legitimate entity, and/or into an unrelated corporate account. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities. Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress.
